evaluation
In this project I had to make a news report based on a true story or I could make it fictional. to do this we had do it in stages, starting with research, going into pre-production and finally evaluation.
with the research i looked at past news reports and had to evaluate each report by thinking about how it was achevied and if it was a good edited report . also, i had to research two radio broadcasted news reports, this was to understand how audio was differant to a tv news report. this research helped me to make my news report the best it can be by taking what was good in my reserch and using it in production.
in pre-production i created a mind map which allowed me to come up with multiple ideas. once i found one i really liked i worked on my production schedule, storyboard and shot list. i was able to work on all three at they all coincided with each other . these help me keep on track so i knew what i was doing each day. once all this was in place i had to do a risk assessment for the room i was using to mak sure it was safe to use. then i ws able to start working on my script for my news report once this was done i had to ask jay for his premission to film as he was helping me in my news report. if i did not have a script i would be unsure of what to say or if i had to re film there would be the same script every time. having jays permission was helpful due to my storyline needing a second role.
now it was time to move onto production, once i had the all clear from my tutors i started to film. i filmed my news report in front of the green screen in the media studios. the reason i filmed it in front of the green screen is because my news report was meant to be in a news studio and Afghanistan. this allowed me to add the relevant background later on in post preduction.
now that filming was complete, it was time to edit it all together. to edit the footage i used premier pro to piece all the footage together. i also was able to add the news desk and photo of the desert to the green screen so it looked like i was in a sudio and jay was in the desert on the afghan border.
overall in this project i successfully made a news report. the recording was the best part of the project due to having morked on two projects before this which allowed me to work better with the equipment. what didnt go so well was i struggled to apply images to photos to the green screen. if i was to do it again i would choose a less serious story
